Procedure time & anaesthetic
The procedure is tailored to the individual and may require subsequent ear piercing after surgery. The surgery generally takes 45-60 minutes depending on the extent of the reshaping of the earlobe.
The procedure is usually carried out under local anesthetic with a minimal level of discomfort experienced by the patient.
Recovery time & after care
After your earlobe repair surgery, there will be small scars on the ears which will at first be red but will eventually fade to a pale silvery color. After 4-6 months the earlobe should look almost completely normal with no obvious signs of the previous piercing. Ears can be re-pierced 6 months after the operation has taken place.
